C5 2.0HDI 07, turbocharger fault P0243

Unread post by toolfan »

Hi all

I am new here, looking for some advice. I am an enthusiastic hobby car mechanic, normally working on older cars and bikes. I own my C5 2007 2.0HDI (228'000km) since a few years and did already quite some repairs. I like the car, but sometimes the modern technique is over my know how.

These days I am having troubles with missing turbo pressure. Diagnosed with Lexia, P0243, open circuit to the pressure regulator (the magnetic valve).

- replaced the corresponding valve (behind cylinder bank) - no better
- disconnected and sprayed the electric connectors, shaked all the cables, - turbopressure back to normal (2.3 bar) for some days
- tested the function of the vacum operated turbo-regulator, the rod moves fine when vacum is applied
- when there is low turbo pressure, the air temp intake sensor shows -50°C (changed the sensor, no better)
- when there is low turbo pressure, the tempomat (automatic speed control) is not working, malfunction warning in the dashboard
- engine error light is allways off

I would like to find out, where that circuit is open, but I have no wiring diagrams. Tried to download dockbackup/sedre, but cannot get into any diagrams.

If somebody could send me a print of the engine mangement wiring diagram, would help me a lot! Or tell me where to start checking... ;)

Looking forward to the advice of the more experienced French Car Lovers :)

I can't contribute anything to troubleshooting.
DocBackUp and SEDRE can also be installed free of charge on Virtual-Box if the conditions of virtualisation are given.
The link can be found in the German ACC Forum by "René Mansveld".

..just be aware that they will be 10 years out of date, especially for parts.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

Correct - the spare parts list can be used with caution - the correct spare parts can only be determined via the current Service Hotline.
On the other hand, the repair instructions/electrical circuit diagrams/repair times are often very helpful - these were also almost always transferred unchanged to the current Service Hotline - and they are free of charge.

I probably found the fault: I replaced the plug which connects the turbo pressure controller to the wiring harness of the engine. Since then, a few hundred kms in two weeks, no problems any more. I hope it lasts...
