Hey folks been reading through, issue I have is my interior heater blower keeps cutting out when I go past speed 2! The air then pulses out then stops and you can hear a whining noise until you turn fans completely off…after a few minutes you can switch it back on….it sometimes stays on at speed 2 but anything else it just does the above? Any ideas!? I’ve just changed resistor and still doing it?
Cheers folks

What do you mean by the resistor? Do you have a photo?

Re: Heater blower issue
I think he means the control resistor Paul, which is screwed into the fan housing. It controls motor speed as per the switch position. The fact it is making a whining noise would indicate the motor is gone.

Re: Heater blower issue
I was wondering whether it might be possible that he replaced the heating resistor(s) by mistake and the control unit is still faulty.

Re: Heater blower issue
+1 for the motor. Did the same with my Pug Partner - resistor replacement didn't resolve it and going over bumps would stop the fan. Stopping and starting would work sometimes, but was getting worse. Replaced the blower motor and all working brilliantly since.

Re: Heater blower issue
Well there you go, if it happens on bumps it's an electrical issue. I always think that. If it doesn't do it when stationary its most likely electrical

Re: Heater blower issue
Electrical issues more often than not are due to a broken winding or in the case of a motor bad brushes unless it's a brushless of course a bump can knock a connector loose though, I am having a problem with an airbag connection coming loose when I hit a bump in one of my other cars.
