2014 Picasso 2.0 Blue Hdi Clutch change.

Unread post by onthecut »

Not long had my late 2014 2.0 when it became evident the clutch was slipping, which didn't impress me much at just 60k miles. (ordinary 6 spd manual).

I could find virtually nothing about the job on the internet; loads about the 1.6, nothing about the 2.0. I have a copy of the Citroen manual from 2013, but it is quite sketchy in parts as the blue hdi was only just coming in, I guess. Decided to try the Haynes offering, which is an online only affair. They do state at the outset that unlike older Haynes books, it is not based on a stripdown -- and it certainly isn't. Some bits are helpful, while some bits are plainly lifted from the official manual, but not in its entirety.

It is a reasonably big job, but some aspects which I expected to be really a pain weren't so bad. You obviosly have to take care, but dropping the front subframe really isn't too bad (I had the help of a pallet truck)

If you have ever done a clutch on a 1.6 diesel 206, this is a much better thought out arrangement. Upon removing the old clutch, the plate was like new, so I can only assume it is some defect in the idiotic SAC system.

If ever something addressed a 'problem' that didn't need fixing, this set up is it.

Mike.
