Hybird4 Air Con switching off around town

Hi,

First post here. We have just brought a 2014 3008 hybrid4. Around town or when braking the ac switches off. This leads to the car getting hot quickly (we live in Toulouse so often 30c plus). Have other owners experienced this or is there a problem with our car ?

On the motorway the ac works as expected. Presumably down to the engine always being on on the motorway.

My thoughts would be to do with the temperatures being too hot, which requires the engine to be running to maintain comfort levels under these temperatures. Make sure you have the ECO button switched off:

Have a read of your manual, where it says with reference to the ECO mode:

This function prevents the Diesel engine being switched off and so ensures that a comfortable temperature can be maintained in the passenger compartment (air conditioning running continuously).

If you don't have ECO switched to 'off' to allow the diesel engine to run continuously with or without the assistance of Electric mode, then the A/C will never be able to maintain the cool air in the cabin.
