C4 spacetourer 2018 rear camera error: "Absence of calibration" (after camera replacement)

Hello all,

My rear camera was stolen and after the replacement using a part I bought on a retailer I got the fault code "B122B 13 - Absence of calibration" for the "Panoramic visual assistance rear camera" (using DiagBox).

Diagbox has the capabilities to deal with such kind of fail? If yes, it will requires a user connected to Citroen service center to download the data?

Where did you buy the replacement camera? Is it a genuine Citroen replacement part and the correct part number? You must ensure you have the correct part as these are CAN cameras and won't work with just any camera.

As per the fault code below, it it not getting the correct signals from the camera.

Fault Code:	B122B 13
Description of Fault:	Rear panoramic visual assistance camera fault: Open circuit. Detection of a fault on the rear panoramic visual assistance camera video link (For more than 33 milliseconds). Description of the diagnostics: - Short circuit to positive on the VIDEO+ line - Short circuit to positive on the VIDEO- line - Short circuit between the VIDEO+ and VIDEO- lines - Open circuit on the VIDEO+ and VIDEO- lines Conditions of activation of the diagnostics: Panoramic visual assistance ECU supplied.
Conditions for Fault to clear:	Absence of a short circuit
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active:	-
Symptoms:	The rear view cannot be displayed [*]Incorrect or deteriorated panoramic visual assistance image
Suspect Areas:	Rear panoramic visual assistance camera [*]Panoramic visual assistance ECU [*]Electrical harness

Sorry, I have indicated the wrong fault code, the correct is: B122B 54...

And yes, I bought the original camera, PN# 9806794180.

I'll need your VIN for the other fault code and also because there can be a different part number depending on the system you have fitted.

Hi, I got the camera part number with Citroen service center near my city but anyway, the last 8 digits of my VIN is JJ505062.

Ok, so confirmed this is the correct part, and with the new fault code you supplied, it does appear that either the calibration has not been carried out or has been done incorrectly.

Fault Code:	B122B 54
Description of Fault:	Rear panoramic visual assistance camera fault: Calibration missing. Rear panoramic visual assistance camera calibration fault: - Calibration not carried out - Incorrect calibration
Conditions for Fault to clear:	Successful factory calibration or self-calibration (driving) with a sufficient level
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active:	-
Symptoms:	The rear view cannot be displayed Incorrect or deteriorated panoramic visual assistance image
Suspect Areas:	Rear panoramic visual assistance camera

Any idea about how can I fix that?

The software used to interact with this system is the DiagBox or there is another one specific for the cameras and other drive assistance systems?

Is it something that will require connection to the Citroen servers to download data?

There's no data to be downloaded as the Parking assistance ECUs and the BSI deal with that. However the procedure should be listed in Diagbox, but may require other intervention to do. Best to check to see if the procedure is listed under replacement parts for the camera. Some systems require the use of additional equipment / markers to ensure the camera is calibrated correctly, but I've always left this to the dealer to do concerning cameras.

...mean?

To my mind it implies that driving, maybe in a certain manner, will sort the calibration out?

It would suggest that there is indeed a calibration applied at factory / dealership when replaced. The self-calibration may only be relevant in certain conditions and after a factory calibration. This vehicle has the 4 camera panoramic visual assistance system.

I took the car to a dealership but unfortunately they couldn't fix the problem!
I decided to continue troubleshooting on my own... Does anyone have access to the electrical diagram of the camera system?

Or have an idea where the camera control modules are located?

Sorry, there is a visual assistance unit, but I can't advise of the location.
