C5 12volt problems

Hi i am having a problem with my 12 volt adaptor in the front of my c5, it has stoped working, the fuse in the fuse box is fine, any more ideas? is there a fuse under the plastic covering?
Any help would be great
it is a c5 hatchback 2001 model

Is this the cigar lighter socket? Have you tried any other accessories in it?
Some people have said that SonyErricson phone chargers don't work well in some cigar lighters and the socket next to the handbrake is better.

no it is the one next to the handbrake that isnt working ?
