C5 X7 BSI Reset on 3.0 HDI Tourer

Unread post by Jelly_Owner »

Hello,

I've looked at various online resources for performing a BSI reset on a C5 X7 but when they say 'Disconnect the battery but don't open the doors', they neglect to mention that with a 3.0 HDI, the battery is in the boot. So how can I do a BSI reset with my car which is a 3.0?

The problems it has are that the door locks don't work properly now, the wipers don't work at all despite the dash indicating that automatic wiping is active, the time on the clock is always wrong on start up and finally the cruise control symbol is not present at start up although it can be engaged with a couple of presses on the steering wheel button.

Am I correct in thinking that a BSI reset will fix these problems or should I be looking elsewhere? I hope this isn't main dealer problem as they and I don't see eye-to-eye.

Here:

BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure

How old is the battery though? Check your battery health if the reset doesn't fix it.

I've just found the receipt for the battery from the main dealer - January 2020.

Ok, that should be fine, but it may meed a charge as these cars are very power hungry and some systems consume power when the ignition is off, so can deplete the battery over time.

It has been a bit sluggish of late to start but I charged it and it now starts on the button. I've also done a 150 mile journey from Hull to my home in Norfolk. I just kept my fingers crossed that it didn't rain!
