Hi I am after a little advice I have a Citroen Synergie 1.9td which I have owned for the last 6 years and have chipped away at various jobs to keep it road worthy including both wishbones, both track rods and tie rods, both driveshafts, front and rear shocks and springs, new power steering pump all engine and gearbox mounts and all fluids all done last year. The top mounts were done in 2021 and I have checked the brakes to ensure there is no binding followed by a wheel balancing and tracking. For the last 18 months I have had this annoying pull to the left and vibration at 60 - 70 mph which is semi bearable with a good tyre but as soon as the tyre gets uneven wear due to the problem it becomes horrendous to drive and I’m changing tyres for every MOT
I finally capitulated and took it to a local mechanic and after his examination of the vehicle with me present said that he can hear a click from both driveshafts when spinning the wheel, which was barely audible and concluded that I had been too heavy handed with the installation of the driveshafts and they would both need changing.
Is it possible to damage the driveshafts I don’t recall being too heavy handed?
Any advice or help would be gratefully received.
