C4 low compression pressure when cranking

Unread post by Mouka »

Hi Guys - I have checked my C4 2L petrol (EW10 engine) compression pressure during cranking (throttle wide open) and I only get 95psi! This seems too low. I am trying to trouble shoot the reason it goes to limp mode. I get consistent P0011, P0012 and P1160 error codes.

When engine not in limp mode it starts and runs fine so compression pressure can not be that low. Anyone experienced this or does anyone know what compression pressure I should have on cold cranking. I know a good healthy engine with 10:1 compression ratio should have about 180psi. Is my inlet cam timing being affected by dephaser on VVT solenoid issues?
Many thanks

Hi Tom!
I just found this post after answering to you on another thread, did you solve the issues?
