Hi,
I'm losing power in my 2000 Citroen relay 230 van. Anything above 2nd gear there no power and the engine light comes on. I thought it may be Injectors so I've had them out and sent away for serving. The company said there was no faults and have serviced them which is good. I don't want to put them back in yet. Is there anything else I need to check? Could this be a head gasket issue?

There are any number of things it could be. I would suggest that you must run a diagnostics session before spending any more money getting parts fixed/replaced. There are Forum members who have DiagBox equipment which can read most PSA vehicles (although your van may need an S.1279 module as well), and some of the members have said they are willing to help out other Forum members to diagnose their vehicles. The link below is for these members (although some of them have been inactive for a while, so may not respond to requests for help).

Looking at that 1279 module code. It looks like it's a 16 pin obd adapter which my van doesn't have. It just has a 2 pin connection by the ecu

In that case a decent DiagBox setup might do. My own setup has such a connector.adyRE wrote: 29 Apr 2023, 17:28 Looking at that 1279 module code. It looks like it's a 16 pin obd adapter which my van doesn't have. It just has a 2 pin connection by the ecu

Thanks for the reply. Would you be able to tell me what I would need and where to order from? I've got a windows 7 laptop for diagnosis purposes. I just want to make sure if I order the diagbox etc I get the right bits.... Thanks again

Re: Loss of power citroen relay 230
There are Forum members who swear by the equipment supplied by Easy Diagnostics. I have an earlier (Rev B) setup, and it has not let me down. It is not the cheapest, but it has the full opto-coupler setup (which some of the cheaper clones from ebay don't have), so it will work with most PSA vehicles. They regularly sell out, which can be read as an indicator of the quality of their products.
