New green injector seal too big?

Unread post by Slick8 »

I bought a set of injector seals for Peugeot partner 2006 1.6 hdi.

The green seal looked slightly fatter than the seal that was already on the fuel rail feed. I fitted it but the connector wouldn't fully seat into place and hence was leaking diesel significantly. I didn't want to force it In case I damaged the fuel connector. There was a few mm gap between the bottom of the fuel connector and the top of the injector where it fits in.

Unfortunately the original green seal I took off got slightly damaged and the injector now also leaks fuel.

My question is to anybody that's charged these green seals, did you find the new green seal seemed too big and that the fuel connector wouldn't easily seat down and you had to force the connector in or should it relatively easily seat into place with the new green seal in place?

Otherwise the seals I bought are the wrong ones even they look very similar.
