That they make bowden cables?
I am trying to find a supplier to hexagon crimps or terminals on the internet and the specific tool for crimping the terminal ends on.
Of course, it's a rabbit hole. What diameter and length is the nipple? What shape is it? What is the hex crimp required across the flats after crimping?
I've watched a couple of really interesting videos on YouTube about making your own end with solder.
It just triggered a memory that I have spoken or exchanged communications with someone in the recent or perhaps not so dim and distant past that said they make them!!!

I've got these, both Ripault's tools. I've used them for both electrical and Bowden accelerator cables with 'bullet' connectors. Offers invited.

I used to have a pair of the black handled crimpers. They were used for crimping brass bullet connectors instead of soldering them. I stopped using them as the crimping didn't give much protection against water corrosion and ended up soldering the remainder of the brass connectors.

Ahh yes! Understood! For my bikes, I make my own and have the tools to do so and I'm sure as a fellow cyclist, Roger does too... But for windows, our bike ones are nowhere near 'man' enough...Stickyfinger wrote: 22 Apr 2023, 07:00 Window wires Jim....I am sorry for putting this thought in his head![]()

I wouldn't want to make a cable for my bike and rely on a nipple I had swaged to bring me to a stop in an emergency.
It may be that Colin has a spare regulator but his photos from last year or year before show one with a knackered cable anyway and, as you said yourself Jim, the wires go brittle.
I don't want to be held to ransom by the German seller on Ebay for the £26 postage to UK for an 100g item!!!
Naughty Alasdair...

Just a thought Alasdair what's the cable for, there are still some cables sitting in my storeroom, clutch, handbrake, and throttle cables, some I have no idea what for.
