Hi guys
My outer rear light cluster on passenger side has seemed to have failed, wiring etc seems ok but wondered if it’s maybe the bulb holder itself that’s failed and how I’d source a replacement without having to buy the whole lense?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

There aren't any sealed led modules on these back lights, so if you're getting power from the wiring loom to the multiplug, the tracks on the bulb holder are so simple a world of McGuiver like options are available to you. Is it the entire cluster that's inop? Could be as simple as a common earth point having failed? What lights work, which ones do not, and what checks have you done already?

It’s the entire cluster seems to have failed, I’m not very tech savvy when it comes to car wiring etc. the cluster was working intermittently as the indicator light was the first to stop functioning but now it seems to be the whole cluster

Re: C5 estate 2009 PS rear light cluster
Is this issue only on the body cluster? I.e. the lamps not on the tailgate?
If so the common earth on the left hand body lamp cluster is Pin 1. Check the earth wire and specifically the wiring connector PIN and Plug. If there is a load problem it can cause the earth to overheat and may have melted the wiring plug socket, causing intermittent or non function of all lights in the body cluster.
There are separate earths on the tailgate lamp clusters and for each side.
Here are the earths and the one that affects the rear left body cluster is MC61

Yes the issue is just on the body cluster and not the lamps on the tailgate (as pictured) I’ll check the connections etc, can the the connection block be opened or is it a sealed unit

Re: C5 estate 2009 PS rear light cluster
It is a normal connector block. You will get access to this via the internal boot side trims here:
From inside the boot:
Disconnect the connector (at "a")
Remove: The wing nut (3) (if you are removing it, then pull; the cluster away from the vehicle from the outside.
