There was a flip painted, predominantly yellow, CX turbo that I used to see at a few shows in the early naughties, it was sitting on Azev Type A wheels, enginebay a sea of polished alloy, would like some pictures of it, and also to know what happened to it if anyone knows the car / it's owner?
Found little more about it, it's the legendary CGAT that I'm talking about:
Any more pics / info about this awesome machine would be very welcome
I believe it's still going strong and improving by the year like a fine wine... It's a very stunning car... I've seen it at many rallies over the years
If you look through the pictures from rallies over the past years it often featured prominently.
I think I have some but they could take some finding, my filing system leaves a lot to be desired and I am going to be out most of today.
It's been many a year since I saw it last, but it always left an impression on me, a lot of the pictures I've been able to find of it show more of the blue/green/purple flip part of it's flip spectrum, but my memory of it was always predominantly yellow like these ones:
Of all the cars I seen at numerous shows over the years, CGAT is the one I remember most...
The car is still very much in the club and attends multiple rallies every year. It’s owned by a chap called Neil Hotham. He’s a regular poster on the CCC Facebook group.
I’ve got pictures of it when it was silver! It also had a rack fitted to the rear that stuck out about 60cm. It looked good then but nothing compared to how it is now.
It all depends on the light
It's still about, in semi retirement though.

Cool!!! Glad to see it's still going strong But I've got to admit that I think it suits the Azev alloys better than the new ones, however that's a personal choice, and the rest of GCAT is stunning, loving the new engine bling Have you ever considered getting the Azev Type As polished?
