DS3 door mirror query

We all know about the rusty door mirror problem on the DS3, but was there ever a gasket made to put between the mirror base and the door to prevent it, or has anyone tried to make one?

The reason I ask, is because I am looking to buy a DS3, but am reading the horror stories, and have been to view a few of all different ages, and they all seem to be suffering. I even viewed a 16 plate today that had started to blister.

lots of people including myself just bought some Rubber U Channel Edging and put it around the mirror where it meets the body. size you want is 7mm x 5mm

Hi, do you have a link to the U channel edging and have you got a picture of it fitted.

I have bought some of this channel but does nor fit to base of mirror due to shape/contour of base of mirror.
