Hi all. Can anyone shed some light on how the rear door latch works? It's stuck in the locked position. I've managed to free off the loop section from the left hand door to open it up but it's well and truly locked on to it. the top and bottom latched all work on both doors so can I assume the actuator in the middle is kaput? Is it fused? could there be another issue?
It seems from the limited drawing I can find that it's purely electronic in function.
I have the Peugeot Service Box program but can't find the locks in it.
Hope someone can help. Enough issues with this van already.

Have you had the door panel off to check all rods & connectors are attached as they should be? Is there any noise coming from it when you lock & unlock the van? if not try tapping the latch with the head of a screwdriver etc whilst operating the central locking, if the latch is faulty this may well just do the trick to get it open. The latches are pretty much sealed & not designed to be opened.
Dont rule out a wiring issue either, its not uncommon for the wiring to break in the harness where it comes from the body to the door as it is always flexing. I'd pull back the sleeving & check all the wiring.

Hi, wheeler. the panel was already off and everything is attached. I've stripped it all back and put it back on now. The plastic that covered the latch is all ripped and torn so I've removed what I can, but I had to hacksaw the loop off in the end.
Seems there might be two parts to the mechanism that I can't figure out right now. Maybe a Deadlock and a Central Locking that could be separate.
If I explain the main symptom it might be easier. I used the van the day before delivering a sofa. No problems evident. Next day the rear door handle pulled but nothing happened. I could open it from the inside but the central latch was locked around the loop. So from this the van locked and unlocked, but wouldn't release the center latch. The top and bottom latches were releasing allowing me to partly open the doors to get to the bolts to undo the latch.
However, putting it back together there i noticed a bit on the bottom that has another solenoid that pushes a rod in and out and alters whether the outside handle works or not. It also doesn't seem to be operating.
without having a drawing in front of me it might be too hard to follow.?
There is a central lock and a mechanism in the bottom of the door that seems to enable or disable the function to open from outside I can't figure out how they function together to know which part might be kaput.
