Hi,
I installed DiagBox v09.85 on 64 bit Win 10.
When try to use it I get the following message
" Access to the vehicle communication card impossible, validate to try again or Cancel to ignore"
In order to solve it I disabled the firewall and removed an anti-virus SW and re-started the computer but it didn't help.
My question is if DiagBox can run on 64 bit Win 10 ?
The guy I bought from the DiagBox SW , told me to uninstall and reinstall the DiagBox when the firewall is disabled and no antivirus SW is enabled. Is that make sense ?
Thanks
DiagBox v09.85 can be installed on 64 bit Win 10 ?

Re: DiagBox v09.85 can be installed on 64 bit Win 10 ?
From approx. 9.23, the DB can function fully on a 64-bit system.
Before that, a 32-bit system was required because the old LEXIA/PANET software was a 16-bit system.
However, before 9.23 the DB always worked on a 64-bit system (WIN 7 or WIN 10) - only the software for vehicles up to 2007 could not be used.
However, neither Defender nor any other virus programme must be active.
9.85 is not current - but 9.149 - up to 9.125 WIN 7 Pro 64 Bit is possible - afterwards WIN 10 Pro 64 Bit.
If the laptop is also used for other purposes and therefore requires backup programmes, a virtual solution is a good idea - however, the laptop must be virtualisable.
Greetings Wolfgang

Re: DiagBox v09.85 can be installed on 64 bit Win 10 ?
Hi Wolfgang,
Thank you for the prompt response. Given the laptop is used only for the DB there is no need for virtualization ?
Should the anti-virus be removed and firewall be disabled before DB installation or it is OK to do it after DB installation ?
I removed the anti-virus and disabled the firewall after installation but still got the message " Access to the vehicle communication card impossible, validate to try again or Cancel to ignore"
Thanks for your help

No, before hand as the point being that the anti virus software can inhibit correct installation. It will be a bit too late after the event.
If you have it virtualised the problem may be with the USB ports. Make sure the virtualisation software you are using is allowing the USB ports access, as that message indicates there is no comms with the VCI and as it uses the USB to communicate with the VCI, that could be the issue or the drivers are not installed correctly.

In that case, check your advanced power management settings, and look for the section on USB. Make sure you have the USB Suspend option not enabled, as this can disable the USB power when the system thinks nothing is going on.
If these are disabled, then I suspect the driver is or was not properly installed or was blocked when initially installing it by the firewall or anti-virus.

Re: DiagBox v09.85 can be installed on 64 bit Win 10 ?
The firewall is usually not the problem, because the firewall does not damage the software, but only does not allow something - and can usually be cleaned up during installation - a note with "allow" should then appear.
And before a new installation, all existing old DB elements must be removed. There are special programmes for this.
No virus programme - and of course no Defender - should be able to intervene. If Defender is only deactivated, it will start up again after every restart - and damage the actually illegal activation.
I cannot judge where your problem lies correctly and can only point out 2 alternatives - whereby PSA-DIAG (free activation) and the DB from Jack The Ripper (JTR) - with costs of approx. 10€ - have identical activations. However, JTR helps in difficult individual cases with the activation via Team-Viewer.
Link PSA-DIAG: https://www.psa-diag.fr/forum/index.php
Donations are welcome and free up an additional area of the forum - but are not a condition for a free activation.
And at JTR use the Google search to get the data and installation movies - if the software is downloaded - usually all further help and programs are included free of charge - the paid activation is done by mail if paid by PayPal for friends.

I checked the driver via the device management and it says that it works properlyGiveMeABreak wrote: ↑02 Apr 2023, 11:25 In that case, check your advanced power management settings, and look for the section on USB.
