Hi all,
i have the common issue of water in the rear brake light but how do i turn off the warning as it comes on and then off every minute and tries to direct me to my local dealer, its annoying to say the least.
Thanks

By getting it fixed....
Not intending to be too sarcastic, but that is the purpose of the warning so you don't go round driving with dodgy brake lights.

Re: Brake Light warning noise
Agreed, that would be the easiest solution, but the brake light is working fine. its just the audible warning that goes off and on every minute and then the sat nav tries to take me to a dealership,

Re: Brake Light warning noise
The vehicle is detecting an electrical issue and if you leave it you can actually cause more damage later on as the water sloshes about. It will start getting into the light unit electrics, into the wiring and once that happens you are on a hiding to more problems and possible expense.
They are aware of the issues - there is s technical bulletin concerning this and would normally be replaced under warranty . They undertake a 'severity' test to determine the level of water (misting, droplets or filling with water to some degree) and will be able to make a claim themselves. However as your car is 2018, it is likely out of warranty unless you have extended warranty on it.
If there is condensation that will clear through lamp operation and won't be replaced. If there is some degree of water level rising, they will photograph it, then check that the housing and seals are fitted correctly - if they are, then they will replace the lamp, if not they'll clean and refit correctly.
It may be worth calling them so see if it is still covered for this or whether they will make a contribution. The warning is going to go away and as I said if left, it is likely to cause more damage in the future.
