Peugeot 508 RXH HYBRID 4 P1ABF

Good evening everyone

I have issue with my hybrid system, the clutch on electric engine is not engaging so I have replaced the whole engine and diff with another working one but it’s still throwing this code P1ABF. I don’t know where else can I look so if someone can help me I would very appreciate that. Thanks

The fault is recorded in the Hybrid Control ECU (1)

This is what the fault means:

Fault Code:	P1ABF
Description of Fault:	Motor: Absence of coupling. Failure to couple the reduction gear after 3 attempts. Conditions of activation of the diagnostics The following conditions have to be met: - Ignition on - Indicator lamp READY lit
Conditions for Fault to clear:	Issue 3 coupling requests (shifting gears) after repair.
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active:	Driving possible only in combustion mode.
Symptoms:	Lack of power Absence of the electric mode Absence of automatic stopping of the internal combustion engine Banging/knocking/creaking
Suspect Areas:	Motor Electric traction machine

So I had the whole thing replaced sourced from donor car and I could see it working before, now I’m wondering what is the electric traction machine? I will scan the car tomorrow again and see if there are any other faults. Is there a procedure to calibrate the lot after replacement was done? I spoke to someone today who told me that this fault can also occur if the vacuum pump is not working properly but I don’t know if that’s true. Thanks

Hi please help I’m have problem with my Peugeot 508 rxh hybrid 4. When I’m start drive only electric motor, driving fine but when I’m drop acceleration and start charging battery rear wheels. throws errors

The electromotor sub-assembly is not activated after 2 s for a partial activation request or 3 s for a total activation request. Conditions for Fault to clear:	3 activations/deactivations of the electromotor sub-assembly.
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active:	Deactivation of the "Stop and Start" function
Symptoms:	Problem activating the power unit Absence of automatic stopping of the internal combustion engine

Conditions for Fault to clear:	Driving for 5 minutes
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active:	Deactivation of the "Stop and Start" function
Symptoms:	Absence of automatic stopping of the internal combustion engine Problem activating the power unit Jerking/stalling (Stopping the vehicle)
Suspect Areas:	Hybrid control ECU Built-in systems interface Intersystems CAN

So it probably needs some specialist investigation. The ECU on some models can be replaced (They are a little under £3k or a new battery itself with the ECU is about £6.5k).

Adizntk , did you fix your problem ? i have same error and same problem ,replaced the whole engine and diff with another one but still same error,i suspec the problem is hybrid control module but not shure ,coudl you share howe you fix your car?

I have a problem with my Peugeot 508 4Hybrid, 2012.

The diagnostics shows error P1ABE.
The issue is that the car sometimes suddenly jerks. This happens both when the car is in electric mode and in 4WD mode. For example, when you start moving from a traffic light, the jerk occurs, the diesel engine starts, and you continue driving as usual. Sometimes, when you're in electric mode, the jerk occurs, and the car feels like it's in neutral for about 2 seconds before returning to normal in electric mode. It's quite peculiar because on some days, it happens a few times, while on others, it occurs every time you're in electric mode. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
