Nemo smells

Hi
I wonder if anyone can advise

My nemo 1.4hdi diesel

Stinks of diesel inside and outside is 2010 with 28k on the clock

unsure if thats normal, would have thought in this year wouldnt smell

They can leak around the injector seals and there is often a giveaway 'chuffing' sound with the engine idling, also coal-like deposits around the injector seats.

Could also be more obvious leaks from fuel lines and also from the leakback lines.

Agreed with Steve - more commonly found on 1.6 engines, but if you have an injector leak, it can 'pool' in the injector well, where it gets hot and smokes. Fumes will then get sucked into the passenger compartment air intake.

If it was a hole in the manifold exhaust, you'd certainly hear it. So first get the injector seals checked for the correct tightening torque.

First thing i think i will do is change in internal air filter which is hidden on the passenger side as dont think its been done before
But i will look into the injectors im guessing its possibley under the air filter box
I can see why not many nemos are left
mine needs possibley injector seals
top mounts

Seem to be endless money pits and with garage rates at £72 and hour
nearly collapsed when oil change was £72 and i supplied filter and oil
