DS7 Crossback - Check side marker lights

Unread post by NVP70 »

Hi there!
Could you help me with appeared annoying warning during the start of the engine - "Check side marker lights"?
I searched for a long time for the cause of this error and it turned out that the function of turning on the lights on the rear bumper when the trunk lid is raised does not work. Has anyone encountered this problem? is it possible to solve it on your own or do you need to contact the service?
Thanks in advance.

The first thing I would try is a BSI reset.

Side marker lights are only supposed to be active when for example you pull over on the road:
MARKER LIGHTS
When stopping at the road side, this lighting function makes sure other road users can see you clearly. The LED Daytime Running Lights and 3D rear lights are activated on the road side.
So not sure what you are referring to about raising the tailgate?

These are essentially a fancy name for parking lights! When you pull over and park on the right side of the road, if you press the lighting stalk down it puts the side lights on the left side of the vehicle. Lift the lighting stalk up to put the right side lights on when parking on the left, so the traffic side is illuminated. You have to do this within a minute of switching off the ignition.

Your warning may be a default check of the lights on start up. But you can easily check their operation. If they are not working then you may need a dealer visit as these are LEDs.

Thank you, Paul-R! The BSI reset solved my problem. I did simple disconnection of the battery without any effect, but only BSI reset worked well.

Dear GiveMeABreak, in DS7 crossback there is a feature, when trunk lid is raised some lights like emergency lights or side lights start dublicate on the bumper lights because in the night drivers could not see your car. I don't know khow manufacturer implemented this feature technically, I guess there is a sencor on the trunk lid and it turns off lights located on the trunk lid and turn off light on the bumper when the lid ir raised. When I got en error on the cockpit I could not understand what is wrong because all head lights and fog lights work properly. After some time I found that does not work exactly feature that duplicates lid ights tobumper lights.
I hope my experience will help to others. Again thank you to Paul-R.

Well at least it's sorted, but there's no function noted in the latest manual for this that I can see.
