Oil and coolant mixing

Hello to all, I am having this issue sinc I retourned from a 400 km trip. The no coolant indicator appears in the dashboard and when I opened the hood up, I saw the coolant expansion tank completely black on oil. Once on my home, started to try diagnosing the problem. I replaced the oil cooler o rings and started to clean the coolant system with water till very little oil was coming out. Then I put everything together again and put some new oil in the sump. Turned on the engine and inmediatly started to spit oil again. Now I purchased the oil cooler to try if its that. Have some of you guys had the same problem? It is a possible crack on the block? Your english is fine

Oil cooler itself can fail, so think you are likely on the right track already. If you've got a cooler purchased then I would fit that before considering any other possible failures

Thanks Matt for your answe, I am finishing the cooler install. I hope this fix works.
