Door open warning

Unread post by moizeau »

Could someone enlighten me please as to where the door open switch is on my 2010 Dispatch? Every now and again when I lean on the closed drivers door while driving it beeps at me. Guessing it's in the lock because I can't see any old style push switches. Seems to be more common when cold, or it's just getting worse and we happen to be in winter.
Cheers

Any ideas anyone? I'm sure it's the same system across the PSA range.

Bugger, door card off suppose. Is it easy to get at or is the switch bit exposed and can be contact cleaner in situ?

I would check that the latch and the hasp are nice and tight first, and right in their proper place. A slight bit of 'creep' could cause this problem.

You cant see the switch even with the latch off and in your hand, they are normally riveted together so not even really strippable, best you can really do is to get a thin straw nozzle on whatever you are using & spray it in through every opening you can see whilst operating the catch.

Cheers. everything is nice and nice and tight. The hasp is a little stiff to spring open using the door handle after closing it with a screwdriver. I'll spray some lube in there in situ, if that doesn't work I'll have to see about one from the tat yard. It seems a relatively common problem on PSA vehicles judging by the google responses.
