Hi all.
Purchased a used Citroen Grabd C4 Picasso 1.6 e-hdi auto (ETG6) yesterday.
I feel like there is something wrong with the gear change.
When the car is accelerating, and there should be a gear change, it feels like there is a short powerless before the gear change happens.
The revs don't drop.
Best way I could show it is by the graph attached.
As I am new to French cars I do not have a diagnostic tool as yet, however I do have VAG COM cable woth VCDS.
Is this a terminal issue, in which case I will look at returning the car?
[
Could it be an oil change / fill issue?
Thanks in advance

Re: Citroen Grand C4 Picasso 2014 auto gear change not smooth
As you probably know, these are not proper automatic boxes with a torque converter, but have a manual gearbox and clutch with hydraulic actuators to do the gear change.
It is 'normal' in my experience of these that there is always a slight 'jerk' or 'lurch' as they change gear.
These can be very difficult to work with if they go wrong and require special operations to reset the gearbox grid and clutch behaviour if they are worked on or have a new clutch fitted. I wouldn't ever have one of these personally given the various issues that these boxes can present with and the cost of diagnosing / fixing these when they go wrong.
If you're not sure, I'd either get an experienced tech at a main dealer to go for a quick test drive with you and see if the behaviour you are describing is deemed normal. If not, then I'd alleviate myself of it forthwith if at all possible if you bought it from a business.
You can see the actuator oil level from the small reservoir. These MUST be depressurised with a diagnostic tool before checking and filling the actuator oil level, never when pressurised as the levels have to take account of pressurised fluid in the system. Overfilling of course has consequences.
Changing the actuator oil isn't the same as changing the torque converter oil on a proper automatic transmission where it can make a significant difference.

Hi @givemeabreak.
Thanks for the prompt and derailed response.
I definitely picked up it wasn't a real auto. I figured it was for the mrs who would use it as a bumper car so didn't mind.
I think I will see if it can go back given there are a number of niggles on the car.
Out of curiosity where is the transmission reservoir? I had a good poke in the engine bay and only found the usual.. break , coolant, engine oil etc

This is for a C5 X7 with similar system which details all the components.
