Neil,
Have you tried Edwards at Billericay, A5 spares (?) near Milton Keynes, also posting on the yahoogroups XM list. Also Paul Johnson at XM-centre.com? There is a chap called Willie Johnston in Eire who comes up with lots of odd spares who is on the XM list. He is a Citroen indie.
What happened to it, BTW?

hi rg
cheers for the numbers will give them a try
whats happened is the needle roller bearings inside are damaged and so is the bush that goes down the middle so the roller isn't sitting right on the belt and the belt is trying to come off all the time need to get it sorted as quick as i can need the car on the road

You're welcome!
Paul Johnson may be a good first contact.
The Yahoo group does not seem to be working today.
Do you think that a previous owner has overtightened it? The belt runs fairly tight, so this seems unlikely.

hi
no i think it's 170k of no grease thats done it
if i was you i'd take it off and grease it and keep it greased as there £108 new and you dont get the spring with that
my advice is to pop the bonnet look down from top towards the bottom pulley and see what yours looks like mines sat about 10 degress off straight up but it doesn't mention about lubricating it in any manuals or maintaince scedule
just a bit annoyed about that as i like to keep on top of servicing and maintainance
prevention is cheaper than cure

Neil,
Did you get sorted?
Anything else "gone" on your 2.5 recently?
Cheers
