Hello all.

My folks had a couple of BX hatchbacks in the 90's and I remember thinking how cool the hydropneumatic suspension and interior design was. Rotating drum Speedo sticks out in my mind. When I was about 18 they replaced mums BX and despite my pleading to have it as my first car she sold it to a family friend and exchanged it for a ford focus.

I ended up getting an AX not too long after and then after a couple of years of bone shaking, earsplitting daily driving a 1972 Landover fitted with big knobbly tyres and a Peugeot 2.5td with a straight through exhaust (for forestry contracting and general early twenties showoffery), I got myself a rather more sensible Citroen C15 van and then a Saxo.

15 odd years, a couple of BMWs and a ford Cmax for family reasons later, I have finally satisfied my desire for a hydropneumatic Citroen in the form of a 2010 C5 exclusive saloon. What a great car! After the BMWs and Fords it is just so quiet and relaxing to drive. It is quieter even than the brand new electric Berlingo that I drive for work! I've picked up a few mechanical skills over the years but that's mostly 14mm socket based Landover type stuff and I'm certainly no auto electrician. I am aware that the c5 is a complicated beast in comparison, hence I am joining this forum.

I still have the Landy as a weekend toy by the way. That's never getting sold! @katythelandrover on Instagram.
