Radiator info needed

Post by den »

I'm needing to fit a new radiator to my 1995 Xantia 1.9 TD hatchback. However there is two part numbers listed for this and I'd be grateful if someone could tell me which one I am needing. The first one is N17368 Xantia 1.9 TD >rp 7482 at £80 and the other is N17370 Xantia 2.1 TD ; Xantia 1.9 TD rp 7483> at £86 .The car is a standard 1.9 TD without aircon. I'm ordering the parts online at GSF and don't want to order the wrong one. Thanks.

You should look in the engine bay near the shock absorber mounts, there should be a 4 digit number. That number should indicate you which model is you car.

What is your car's chassis number? I think you have to compare the last four digits from that number with the "rp" nubers given.

Don't worry, a 1995 Xantia will be pre RP 7482.
The RP number will be stencilled on the car somewhere, unless it has been crashed and rebuilt and oblitereated (unless yours is a real Fri PM job and it got missed!)
PS Here's a post all about it:
http://www.andyspares.com/discussionfor ... calculator
And the calculator reveals 7482 to be 5 April 1997.

I've just replaced my 1998 rad and it appears the
N17370 Xantia 2.1 TD ; Xantia 1.9 TD rp 7483> at £86
has the weird clip in hoses whereas the other one has
the usual push on hoses and jubilee clips.

Thanks to everyone who's answered my query. I've found that my rp number is 6784 so it would appear that I'll need N17368 radiator. I think I'll stick a new thermostat in while I'm busy. Knowing my luck that'll pack up a week after fitting the radiator !
