Hello to Everyone on forum, this is my first post. My injection pump leaking badly, engine is 1.9 diesel dw8, lucas pump . I think the leak is on right hand side but there is a cover fixed I think with rivets but not sure. How to remove the cover? Do I need special tool or can I drill the rivets. Thank you. Piotr

Re: injection pump leaking
This is the armouring around the stop solenoid and immobiliser module...
There's no special tools, the screws are tamper-proof and can only be removed by drilling them out and for that the pump needs to be removed from the vehicle.
You must also have replacement screws on hand to replace those drilled out as they cannot be reused...
Be aware the screws are high-tensile and very hard. It is not an easy job... A lot of care, practice and high-quality drill bits are required.
Once the armour is out of the way, you are likely to find the top cover gasket is leaking. A full set of replacement gaskets are readily available and are not hard to fit...
A search of this forum will give plenty of threads on these pumps and their propensity to leak...

Re: injection pump leaking
I was able to remove the armouring around without removing pump but unfortunately there is no leak. The diesel fuel is coming from the gap (green line)
Is the leak from the gasket nr 134 or it might leak from somewhere else?
Thank you

Re: injection pump leaking
Good work on the de-armouring
134 is a good call but do be aware that leaks can originate far from where they ultimately appear... Diesel is good at creeping
As you now have the pump off, replace all seals wholesale, including the driveshaft oil seal.. The last thing you want to do is replace what you think might be the cause only to have to then do it all over again...
Be aware you may need to fabricate/obtain special tools to dismantle the pump and some quite innocent looking fixings can be very tight!

Re: injection pump leaking
Thank you CitroJim. I gave a call company-they repair pumps and they told me that minimum price would be 130£ here in polish money but probably will be like 200£. Set of gaskets is about 15£. thanks
