6 speed auto gearbox 2012 c4b7

hi guys an gals i have searched extensivly and found nothing so firstly let me say sorry if its been asked before i can see abt the picasso but not the hatch and by what ive read its different.
ok so the car as driving started throwing up gearbox faulty on the screen it would change up an down fine in manual mode but trying it in auto it would seem to heavly slip the clutch and high rev before changing. this fault has been very intermitent for the last 2 days the first day it wouldnt start the car thinking its in reverse with the auto on the dash flashing but after waiting about 10 mins it started all fine. yesterday the car started fine and i drove it for 2 hours no messages flashing up whatsoever drove in manual and auto a combination of dual carridgeway and country roads but today it wont start the car thinks its in reverse again with the auto flashing and its been like this all day
has anyone got ant thoughts please i have taken out the gear selector switch and stripped it back it looks good except for a solder joint on the 4th component the leg under the A and this was done before the 2 hour drive yesterday
as a thought i also have had the last couple of weeks when turning on the ignition to warm the plugs the battery symbol has been flashing something i havent noticed before could this poss be just as simple as needing a new battery ?????
