Morning all.
Thanks for letting me join, I work as a truck mechanic but we had a fleet of small berlingos with the 1.6 hdi. They are my favourite small Diesel engine.

The 1.6 in later 8v form is a very good engine. I am particularly impressed with the 120bhp version in our 308. It pulls like a much bigger engine and delivers excellent economy.

Hi Paul. Couldn’t agree more with you. These engines seem bullet proof in all formats. At one point we had a fleet of about 15. Odd egr fault here and there Plug half way down the front of the block seems to let oil pass as they age too. I’ve just done a timing belt on an 09 one with 21200 on it…..on its original belt water pump and pulley. I dare say it would have gone much longer as well. Belt didn’t seem bad at all.
I’ve had them up to 282k and not burn a drop of oil inbetween services.
My mrs has a ds3 hdi. Apart from it being bright yellow and I look like a balding hairdresser driving it, I love it. About 90k on it so I’ve told her it’s going no where soon.

Hi Mac,
Just for your info, if you make a typo and don't notice until you have submitted it, you can always edit your original post to correct it by clicking on the pen symbol top right corner of your post. I use it all the time especially if I've posted from the phone which often gets the wrong character due to the tiny keys on my phone!!

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
