clutch dodgy?

hi
got my new xantia other week and getting it to the way i like it im on my 3rd one now but this one is funny
if i just say touch the clutch pedal the clutch starts to slip is this a sign that im going to have to change the clutch shortly, ive done the measurment on the pedal ala haynes so its spot on
any thoughts

Give the cable a bit more slack. The clutch pedal is kept in place by a spring. I learnt to adjust the END of the clutch cable for personal preference before the clutch does its work. Try this first ....
Don't rely to much on Hays. The guys on here have a lot of experience. If I am wrong in my reply they will correct me!

it worked
now got a better clucth bit more adjustment and its cracked

now onto the rest of my daft faults, ill get there in the end
