what parts for 106 Gti brakes (S2 2001) ??

Post by Luminous »

Hi
I have unfortunately had to store my car for a period of time. Unfortunately when coming to move the car the discs had binded on. Once I got the car going you can clearly see a rusted imprint of the pads on the disc. Braking performance is now very poor, and the steering judders loads.
I'm pretty certain I need discs and pads all round, and would just like to hear what ppl think of the parts that are available from here.
I'm also struggling to determine which part numbers I need for the Gti asuming I stick with std stuff. I'm considering a 206 Gti big brake conversion (I'm on 15" wheels ). If anyone feels like giving me pointers that would be great. You can tell I'm quite new at this, I will definately have to get someone to fit them for me...:
Front discs (easy as they are vented):
T62304 BRAKE DISC-VENTED 106 14.50
Front pads(help !!! what is bendix and ate?? ):
T64000 BRAKE PAD SET-FR BENDIX 106 WITH ATE SYSTEM
T64001 BRAKE PAD SET-FR TEXTAR 106 WITH ATE SYSTEM;
T64004 BRAKE PAD SET-FR BENDIX 106 WITH BENDIX SYSTEM;
T64005 BRAKE PAD SET-FR TEXTAR 106 WITH BENDIX SYSTEM;
Rear Discs (i think I'm after the top one as its the one next to the front gti discs):
T62400 BRAKE DISC-REAR SOLID 106
T62302 BRAKE DISC-SOLID(FR&RE) 106 (4 STUD WHEELS)
T62302A BRAKE DISC-SOLID(FR&RR) 106 (4 STUD WHEELS)
Rear Pads (thankfully these are marked as gti):
T64603 BRAKE PAD SET-REAR LUCAS 106 Gti
