Help with Citroen C5 model identification

Unread post by freelancer »

Hi forum.

First time poster. I need to change the front right window regulator for my Citroen.

I am struggling to confirm it is MK 2 or MK 3 (ie x7).

The VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].

A couple of sites confirms it is X7 eg https://www.autodna.com/vin/VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

But there there is one that says it is MK2 X7.

Is there even a thing called MK2 X7. I thought all X7 are MK3.

ANd to complicate further, when I gave my VIN to an ebay seller, it confirmed that the following 2 items with (MK2 in the name) are suitable for my VIN.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/234491654039
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/224833293852

I am about to buy from this guy, but if an expert can explain if X7 means MK 3 only or if there is a MK 2 X7.

And if the the product for MK2 is suitable for my VIN.

Thanks for your help :)

2008 was the release of the MK 3 (X7)
Have a look at C5 X7 .
Not sure if the window winders are the same for X7 and MK 2 i don't think they are but ebay listings are not usually 100% across the board.

You have a MK3 (X7).

The reason why some sellers refer to it as a MK II is because the original MK I C5 had a facelift around 2004 and this was where the confusion started. Some called it the MK I Facelift, but most refer to it as a MK II. The latest and last version of the C5 is commonly referred to as the MK III or X7 (which is it's model code), but some purists will still call it the MK II!
