Hello everyone,

I’m new in UK and new on this board too.

I apologise my English is not yet good as yours so I ask forgiveness for any mistake or misunderstanding. I will really appreciate if you help me to improve my English .

Usually I speak…. French .


So what made me to register on this french cars board ? Welll I bought a french car for my wife from a car dealer in Doncaster. A C3 Picasso VTR+ 1.6 petrol with an automatic gearbox ( reg 2013).

And we started to get oil red light warning with message about oil pressure and STOP message.

Not every time but we got it at least 3 time.

So I hope your help could give me clues about what to do to fix it or if I should go back to the dealer as the car is still under the 3 months engine + gearbox warranty.or guarantee. At least I will learn few things and will be able to have proper discussion with either the dealer or any garage.


Yes it’s strange that a french speaking guy come to UK to buy a french car to discover that there is issue on it and is asking help in English lol.

Oh by the way I’m not confortable with mechanic

My French is nowhere near as good as your English, so English is definitely the way to go. It is a very complex language with many similar sounding words that have different meanings and even different spellings although they are pronounced in exactly the same way. That can make learning practicle English an entertaining experience. Good luck with developing your excellent start.

As for the car, I would advise taking it straight back to the dealer while the warranty is live and ask them to sort the problem out for you. Especially as you are not comfortable with mechanics, it makes sense to ensure that they do the work. Sadly there are a number of less than honest dealers around so it would pay you to ask them to list what the problem was and how they have repaired it in writing for future reference. Hi, and to the Forum. Don't worry about the quality of your English; it is a lot better than my French (which is non-existent!). I would initially suggest you get the dealer to resolve the problem (if they can), as anything you do might invalidate the warranty.

Do feel free to browse around the Forum, as there are lots of things to read (the Off Topic Lounge is not necessarily car related) and contribute to.

I've had the problem in the past, most recently on my AX, and it was nothing more than a faulty oil pressure switch. Fingers crossed it is the same problem with yours. Cheap and easy to fix...

I will search on the appropriate board for my issue and if I don’t find anything will create a new thread.

And in same time will contact the car dealer.
