Hi all,
I am trying to get Diagbox working so I can initialise a replacement NOx sensor on a late 2016 DS3 1.6Hdi. I bought the full chip kit from Easy Diagnostics, and after a little IT battling, I have managed to work through the various installation versions, v7.02, v7.57 and then a number of interim steps to get to v8.17 which is the latest version that comes from Easy diagnostics.
I have two challenges:
1) None of these versions ever show DS as a third manufacturer choice, something I see on some screenshots of Diagbox out there. Only Citroen and Peugeot. Now I appreciate that a DS3 is just a Citroen with some different badges on, but it does not give me confidence that this is the right software version to talk to my car.
2) I cannot get past the 'Data Access Problem' that comes up when selecting Citroen - even when disconnected from the Internet. Searching shows lots of people with the same issue, but no solutions - simply a recommendation to go back to v7.57.
Before I go back to Easy Diagnostics for help, I wondered if anyone has any pearls of wisdom. Any ideas on what version I need to work with my particular late 2016 car? Do I need to go to VMWare and v9.x?
Martin
Does Diagbox work on 2016+ cars (past v7.57)?

Helping my daughter with her first car, a 2016 DS3 Prestige 1.6HDi 120 (S/S) - 160,000 miles.
I have some high mileage german stuff, and a selection of motorbikes.

Re: Does Diagbox work on 2016+ cars (past v7.57)?
Answering this one myself as I have managed to solve it. I initially re-installed back to v7.57 - over the top of v8.17 - and this has corrected the 'Data Access Problem' message and actually allowed me to access the features of Diagbox. v7.57 only lists Peugeot and Citroen as manufacturers though, not DS.
Decided to purchase v9.91 from Easy Diagnostics, and installed that. v9.91 requires a virtual machine environment to work, but comes with the software and licences to do so included with the Diagbox software. The installation of v9.91 is so much easier (assuming your laptop meets the pre-reqs for VMWare v16.5), and so much less fussy than v7.x or v8.x. It also takes about 30 minutes to install rather than 3/4 of a day to go through every incremental update install in v7.x and 8.x.
I then used v9.91 to initialise the new NOx sensor on my daughter's DS3, and also 'inform' the car that the AdBlue tank had been fully filled. Both routines were easy to find and trigger, and so far, the 'Starting prevented in 700 miles' countdown has gone. I can see how useful the software is going to be, though I definitely need to find a manual as some of the simple stuff (i.e. deleting stored fault codes) was not obvious to me at all.
Very impressed with v9.91 - my recommendation would be to go straight to that if you are a new Diagbox purchaser and completely miss out the earlier versions. You won't get telecoding, but given v9.91 can run the various replacement and reset procedures needed to cure faults, not sure when we would need that really.

The earlier versions will work fine on Citroen-badged DS vehicles - so you would select the marque as Citroen and select the model from the list which includes DS3, DS4 (Shown as C4 (B7 / DS4)) and DS5. Later DS-badged vehicles won't be covered on earlier versions of Diagbox.

Diagbox 9.91 is no longer completely up-to-date. The status is 2021.
As a VM, 9.125 is available free of charge - status 5/2022.
The prerequisite for a VM is that the laptop can be virtualised.
WIN 10 64 Bit PRO is recommended.
If you do not have a virtualisable laptop, you can of course also install 9.125 directly "free of charge" - the activation code is also free of charge.
Works on WIN 7 64 Bit PRO or better on WIN 10 64 Bit PRO.
With WIN 10 64 Bit, the available update up to 9.143 could then also take place (activation remains unchanged) - status almost current.
