508 GT shut down in -20*C.. Fuel? P0087 - P0094 - P3024

Unread post by CAG »

The car, a 2.2 HDi ran perfect for 2-3 km, then jerked under acceleration and a “Engine failure STOP”message.
Stopped, towed it home and after that it did not start again.
Codes:
P0087 - Fuel pressure low.
P0094 - Small fuel leak.
P3024 - Pressure regulator, malfunction?

So, did the cold whether have anything to do with this?
Or can it be as simple as a fuel filter?

Where do I start, any ideas?

I might add, the diesel heater also does not work now.

I had similar problems and codes in the summer, car froze on highway on steady 120 km/h. On my gt the reason was that it got air in the fuel system (from the line with handpump) before fuel filter because I "saved" some money and tried to use other fuel filter than Purflux. After checkings and hours of diagnosing I only had to change the fuel filter back to Purflux (OE).
It was the fitting for the white fuel line in filter that was crap (filter was Kolbenschmidt 50014740).

If you have the same problem, you can see air bubbles between hand pump and filter. And maybe if you use the hand pump you should be able to start?
Anyway, changing the fuel filter is the cheapest and easiest way to start, even if it was the wrong diesel type.

Yes, I do have some bubbles in the fuel line before the filter. Even in the line closest to the fuel rail.
I can’t get it to start using the manual pump, but I can see fuel moving, even in the line before the fuel rail.

Changed the fuel filter without any change. Used the hand pump until I couldn’t see any bubbles and I felt the pressure building in the lines. Tried to start and then checked the lines again, full of bubbles and no pressure.

Is it possible that a defect fuel pressure regulator could cause this?

After a night in 10*c garage, with a charged battery and a minute of pumping it started again! Still don’t know what caused this. But maybe it is easy as -20*c and a bit low on fuel (no fuel light), or/and the fuel filter..

Hi
i have same problems whit same default code, P0087 - P0094 - P3024
Did you find a solution ?

when I drive my car, it indicates a problem, then I get the following message: engine fault, stop the vehicle.
When I open the hood, I pump the primer bulb and the car starts.
Then, it empties little by little.
I manage to empty the air bubbles by opening the bleed screw on the top of the "new" filter.
So I'm going to try a new brand of filter.
but before changing it, I had the problem once.
since I changed it, it's repetitive. Approximately every 7km..

Could the pressure sensor on the ramp be a cause?
Are there any hoses to check?
the priming pump to change?
