2019 C4 Spacetourer - Cruise Control Failure then Oil Pressure Light and Engine Limp Mode.

Unread post by FatGoalieE15 »

Hi all,

I have a C4 Spacetourer with 39,000 miles on the clock, 2019 and FSH. Recently broke down as was accelerating to 50mph and joining a dual carriageway when the Automatic Cruise Control Failure light came on, followed immediately by the Oil Pressure light and stop immediately. Car went straight to limp mode. AA tried to recover us to Citroen in both Romford and Chingford, however they refused to take the car as they had no space and no service bookings until mid January.

Got it recovered to my local garage who says it's likely the Oil Filter. Had that changed and seemed to work ok. Drove it 5 miles and the same thing happened again. Now all the garages are saying "Oil Pumps should not fail on cars that young with that few miles" and to take it to Citroen as it is throwing up weird electronic failures - Cruise Control being one, when put on the diagnostics.

Citroen have no service spaces until mid January, leaving my without a car until then! Any ideas what it could be that is causing this other than Oil Pump?

You haven't stated what engine this is - pop your VIN up (please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff) then we will have a better idea.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

Hi, and :welc: to the Forum. When engine faults occur some driver assists can automatically disabled until the real fault has been resolved, and the Cruise Control would be such an assist, so do not waste time trying to fix that (as it will become available again once the real fault is fixed).

You may need to arrange for a diagnostics session done on your car, to get the fault codes. That way you should be pointed in the right direction as to what the fault is. Replacing parts in the hope that this will fix the problem is likely to be a waste of money.
