Hello
A tostada newwbie at asking advice on a forum.
I have a 2016 308SW 1.6 HDi which is all well apart from recently coming up with an engine error just after refuelling. Diagnosis of this gave an error with the Eolys pump and or communications with the unit. It had been refilled 5000 miles ago and still had plenty of fluid.
The pump unit has been replaced and filled. All synchronised with the control unit but still the service light comes on. One thing noticed is that the warning will appear at ignition on but engine not running.
I appreciate I’m missing specifics about error codes etc.
if anyone has any ideas of which way to proceed I would be grateful.
Mike

We really need some diagnostic fault codes to be honest as it could be anything to do with the emissions system. When you get these (preferably diagnosed by Diagbox), pop them up here along with your VIN and I'll have a look.
Can you confirm when you topped up the Eolys fluid that you reset the additive counter to zero?

Re: 308SW Eolys pump error
Hi
The tank was refilled about 5000 miles ago and the counter was reset at that time.
The error codes are:
P1434 Multiplexed additive pump: pump fault
P1435 Multiplexed additive pump: Can network fault or pump fault.
Thanks
Mike

Yes, it's a common one this. If you've not recently topped up the fluid (which would seem to be your case) then it needs further investigation, but typically the additive pump is on the fritz. It's a chicken and egg situation - either there is no comms with the pump (P1435) as the pump is duff or the engine ECU can't communicate with the pump as the comms are faulty. It's likely to be the pump though as it's been operating for 6 years every time you add fuel, and we've seen a few about this age starting to go now.

The pump unit has been replaced and appears to sync correctly with the control unit but the error persists. A bit of an expensive try out. At least I know the pump is now new.
This is what is frustrating.

Ok and I can assume you replaced the pump with the correct one? Do you have the part number handy?

Re: 308SW Eolys pump error
Hi
I’m pretty sure the pump is correct. It was fitted at my usual car repair establishment.
I can find out a part number.
Thanks
