Car Museums and other Interesting Collections

Unread post by Dormouse »

When we visited my wife's sister in Nashville I heard about the Lane Motor Museum but never could quite get to it. What I didn't realise then was how eclectic and European parts of the collection was. I wish I knew then what I discovered in this YouTube video

It was a bit like the Louvre, the day we wanted to go [a tuesday] it was closed!

I don't know what it is with me and museums but when I first went to visit the National Motorcycle Museum a few years ago, it went up in flames the day before! I have been back since.

Here's one I've visited a couple of times.

I would love to spend time there. Looks great. Have to settle for the Needle Museum in Redditch for the meantime.

I've been looking for the vintage Rolls I sold to a guy in San Francisco back in 1960, it might be tucked away in some museum somewhere in the States, if it still survives.

If you are creating a bucket list of museums to visit I suggest this one is worth a stop off.

I visited it about 20 years ago, even the wife liked it!!

The Schlumpf collection would definitely be on my grand tour of Car Museums.
Silly question? How many of you have visited the Transport Museum at Alford?
