wheel spacers

Hi, my Peugeot 306, just had its MOT, an advisory was the rear wheels are toed into towards the car and will soon be rubbing on the bodywork ! they suggested buying some wheel spacers. I have never heard of them ! where would I source them and what are they called ? thanks in advance Terry.

Spacers just move the wheels further outboard.

You can get them on eBay. Not sure how that'll fix the toe-in issue though?

Sounds like your rear arm bearings are wearing out if the wheels are getting closer than they were before. I'd get that fixed rather than get wheel spacers!

Sounds like your rear arm bearings are wearing out if the wheels are getting closer than they were before. I'd get that fixed rather than get wheel spacers!

Fully concur... You're best off getting a reconditioned rear beam complete as when the rear arm bearings fail they often take the axle tube and rear arm pivots with them... A complete replacement often works out cheaper and easier in the long run. Swapping them is not difficult... Just ensure you get the right one compatible with the rear brakes your car has... Disc and drum rear arms have different hub axles...

Whilst you are doing the job, its worth overhauling the rear brakes, especially if they are drums, and renewing the wheel bearings...

Michel and Citro Jim are correct, it's a regular 306 problem ( and all the other Peugeots with torsion bar rear axles )
Try these guys http://abaxles.co.uk/en/about/ I have used them many times. Fully recon` ready to fit delivered to your door, and they will collect the old axle.
