DS3 STEERING

Hi Guys thank you for accepting me.
I have a 2015 DS3 with intermittent power steering problems and intermittent dash lights.
Had an auto electrician out who has checked everything for corrosion etc. Basically said he can't see the part number on the ECU, Rack and motor so would be as case of getting on ramps, taking it all off and sending away for it to be tested.
Sounds like an expensive job.
Can anyone advise if its worth doing please?

Hi, and to the Forum. How old is the battery? The modern PSA vehicles have a lot of electronics, and are reliant upon there being a good electrical supply. It is not unknown for the power steering to be heavy just after starting then engine if the battery is on its' way out.

I have had the battery and alternator checked and they are both OK apparently.
I had diagnostics done at a garage who recommended I get an auto electrician to check everything.
Do you suggest I try to find date on the battery first?

I would (find the date on the battery). It may be OK when there is a light load on the electronics, but could let you down when the electrical load is heavy (if the battery is past its' best date).
