hi all ive a warning light come on in my xantia,its orange and it top left sec one in,looks like a circle with broken lines round it.
anyone know what this mean

low front brake pad warning light - time to change the front disk brake pads.

Front brake pad wear warning light. Might be telling you they need replacing, or just that the wire has chafed through somewhere.... Never bother reconnecting mine as they are always unreliable!

would the light come on when the hand brake is pulled up as thats when it seems to come on

That would tend to indicate that the pads were genuinely worn if the light only comes on when the brakes are applied, as opposed to when the wire gets chafed through by the disc.

I always leave those Bl.... wires in the box, cant seem to get them fitted right [:D]

I think you'll find that if the light comes on when the handbrake is applied the pads have worn out. If it comes on at random with the handbrake off then the cables have chafed through on the end of the handbrake cable. The light shoild come on when the contacts hit the disc and of course they should only do this when the brakes are applied.

Mine used to flicker when I went over 70mph, when I changed the discs and pads the cable was ok and flicker went away? They were pretty worn.

Natace1972 what type of Xantia do you have? What kind of trim?
