Dear All
Doing a bit of prep for winter - vaselined battery terminal posts followed by BSI reset as set out here many times before and as I have done several times before. However, the remote key fob didn't work after. Changed the battery in fob and still doesn't work after 2 BSI resets.
Any ideas guys?
Cheers

Make sure you wait and follow the times here:
BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure
If you try and restart the vehicle before it has initialised, then the starter will just turn with out starting the vehicle.

Does the car still start & do you have more than one remote?

Hi Marc & Wheeler and thnx for your responses.
I have tried again following exactly the instructions in the BSI reset link and still no joy. The car starts fine and everything else works fine as well; just not the remote locking/unlocking. All doors lock & unlock fine manually with key in drivers & passenger door locks.
I only have 1 remote fob and 1 spare non remote service key.

It's possible that if the fob has been dropped, that the microswitches have broken. Do you hear anything if you try and press the lock or unlock buttons. I would find it hard to think that both switches could be broken at the same time - but of course there could be other damage to the fob internally on the circuit board. Either that or the receiver in the vehicle is on the fritz.

Sorry if this may sound obvious but when you fitted the new battery did you put it the right way around?
It’s an easy one to get caught out with.
If the battery is good you really need to check that the remote is transmitting a signal, most garages should have a tester for this.
I have had on the odd occasion remotes just not re syncing & had to re code them with Lexia.
