i have a 306 1.9 tdst saloon and am having some weird problems with the cooling.
1 i have not hot air through the heater/carpets dry etc
2 cars seems to hold temp ok
3 no gassing up or oil/water mix problems
4 both fans kick in fine
5 rad seems to be cold all the time as does the header tank side
6 no smoke/poor starting running etc
i think i could have an air lock in the system so i would like some advice on the correct bleed procedure please.
i know you probably done this topic a lot but your help/comments would be greatly recieved.
thanks

The rad being cold all the time seems strange especially with the heater not working and the temp being OK. Without either the rad or the heater to cool it I would expect overheating to occur fairly quickly. Check the top hose into the radiator gets warm.
Bleeding is usually just a matter of cracking open the bleed screws and waiting for water to come out then tightening them up. I would start with the lowest. Often though the header tank is not high enough to get water to the top bleed screw so some extension to the tank is required. I have dome this on Citroens by inserting a piece of plastic household waste pipe into the filler neck using a rag to seal it.
