Problem following a flat battery re-charge
I have a 2010 Citroen Relay Camper van. The battery is now flat after standing for a while. Not being able to move the van I took the battery out to re-charge it. I have charged it using a smart charger that is showing full charge, I have attached a meter that shows 12.7V 100%. When I connect back to the van the dials (fuel gauge and Temp gauge) flicker, the hazard lights work, and the interior lights work. However, when I turn the ignition on nothing happens, no dashboards lights at all. Is the battery 'Dead' or has some electrical error occurred?

Re: Problem following a flat battery re-charge
Static voltage is not a good indicator of battery condition (and neither are the little sight glass hole thingys) A knackered battery can still show a good voltage with no load on it, What happens to the voltage when you turn the ignition on? Have you tries jump starting it with jump leads?

Thanks for the reply. Good point about the possible voltage showing on the meter. I will go and check.

Have checked that. When I turn the ignition on there is no change in 12.6 v. Still no dashboard lights. Radio, int light and hazard lights work. Windows, wipers and mirror adjust do not work

Check all fuses then. Remember there are some strip fuses on the battery positive terminal.

Re: Problem following a flat battery re-charge
When you fit the battery go under the bonnet to the booster cable points and take the voltage reading there. The booster points are the earth bolt at the left end of the bonnet slam panel and the tag under the lift up plastic flap on the electrics box. You should get exactly the same voltage there as at the battery. If not, you have poor connections in the main leads. After that it is hunt the poor connections one by one.
PS the water that drips/runs down from the blocked scuttle and heater inlet can fall on the electrics box area and cause issues. This is made worse if the van slopes to the left when parked. I use a front cab cover on Pint Pot when she is parked to stop just that issue.
