Diagbox

Unread post by bnd »

Hello fellow French car Forum members. I have just had diagbox software loaded on to my laptop. My next step is to find a member here on the forum who can advise me where to purchase the cable that goes from my laptop to my obd2 port. Can anyone help. My deepest thanks to anyone who replies in advance.

It's not simply a cable you need....

You require the diagnostic hardware which is called the VCI. The 'kits' come with all the cables and the hardware required. The software is useless without the hardware.

You need to search for a 'Lexia 3 Diagnostic Kit' for example.

Thank you so much Mark. I thought the Diagbox version 7 ibought had all the software to do the diagnostics. I was told by the diafbox software seller that it would only work with Windows 7 and all I needed was the cable to connect the laptop to the obd2. I will search for this kit and hopefully I will get a bit further. Thank you again. Robert.

Thanks husky. I'm using the same as yourself. I downloaded diagnostic and it would not install. I contacted Ted the seller and they sent me a cd. I thought that this was the programme and when installed that was it. I still cannot find the cable from lap top to obd2 forsa,e anywhere. Maybe it's the proper description of the cable I lack knowledge off to find one. I'm lost to real the truth. Mark said I needed to buy a kit. The prices are quite high for them. I will look for other posts on this subject and I agree they all should be clubbed together.

This thread is in the diagnostics section, so is in the correct place (I already moved it here IIRC).

Unfortunately over the last 20 years or so there have been multiple posts in various threads that refer to diagnostics as part of other issues, so is impossible to retrospectively move individual posts out of historical topics otherwise this would cause orphan posts and broken threads.

The other issue is that rarely are 2 issues the same, so realistically, one long continuous thread would be impractical to navigate.

I believe the cable you require looks like this one
cable.jpeg
There's then a VGA to USB cable connecting that to the laptop.

There's some variations out there too involving a 30pin connector but the premise is still the same - obd2 into that 'box' then into laptop.

Normally sellers combine this with the software as as kit which sounds like you have seen.

I contacted easy diagnostics and got to speak with a gentleman named Jim. He was extremely helpful. I have got the kit from them and everything is now up and running. Just need a course on how to operate it lol. Thanks to everyone for their help.

Can you program a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso MK2 2014 with Diagbox or does it need to have an online account? I've had to replace my radio as it was faulty but cant change the Vin number on the new radio. I keep getting errors on diagbox. Is anyone able to help me? Thanks

What version of Diagbox software are you running? Is the hardware full chip?
