That'll likely be a front centre hydractive sphere with that kind of pressure Alasdair... Is it physically a bit taller and slightly less ball-like than say, a corner sphere? If so, that's a sure sign it is a centre hydractive... They're triple layer and are either good or ruptured... Unusual to find one low...

Good to know your sphere tester works!

In the absence of any information on sphere numbers, a good stab can be made at their intended application by measuring pressure and in the case of corner spheres, their damper hole diameter... Hydractive spheres have smaller holes than non-hydractive ones for instance...

Anti-sink and Activa accumulator spheres have a threaded hold in their bases to take a 3.5mm pipe union...

Forgot to say, front centre hydractive spheres are nominally 72 bar so 69 bar is pretty much on the money...

I still have a chart of all Activa spheres here if it's any help...

Yep, definitely a front hydractive centre then :) It can be used as a temporary substitute normal accumulator if it will fit which, on a V6 is unlikely...
