Having a bit of an issue but only every now and again,
My 14 plate 1.6hdi now and again when changing gear keeps the revs held until I'm into the next gear and then they drop
It does not do it all the time though,
If i keep the clutch dipped they will hang or stick say at 2250rpm but then lower after a few seconds it weird why its doing it.
You can pull up to the next junction and it drives without issue,
I think the clutch is getting tired quite a high biting point but does not appear to be slipping??
Clutch is a little noisy when i press it and then release i think it's the release bearing dry when the vans on idle
Its done 132k and suspect the original clutch.
Any ideas.
Thanks

It's also possible for the Dual Mass Flywheel to be on the way out if fitted, which it was to some 1.6 engines. Pop your VIN up and I'll be able to see if you have one fitted or not, which will at least rule that out if not fitted.

Ok, so you have a single solid flywheel, so you can ignore that. I'd certainly be looking at the clutch / thrust bearing or other components - which should be checked when you take it in for a replacement.

Re: Revs Rise On Gear Change
I've decided to get the clutch changed, the biting points very close to if not at the top, Also getting the slave cylinder(one on the outside of the box)at the same time due to a clicking coming from that area, Could be in the box but may as well get it all changed then it's done.
Currently awaiting a quote to book it in.
Only the strut top bearings to look at after the clutch has been done just working out if it's a do yourself job.
Having run 'diag' on the van last weekend and no faults found that swayed me to put the money into the van and keep it for a few more years.
Mechanically sound and with having the 'diag' software on laptop and all the connectors if anything major goes it's replaceable and re-programmable so keeping everything crossed i have made the right choice.
