Hi all,
I'm having issues with my c3 2006 1.6 petrol XTR
It’s thrown up faulty gearbox On the dash. I could drive it, but only in first and second gear. In the third, he didn't want to. Since I have a lexia diagnostic. I plugged it in and read all the errors(and errors from log). Below I am providing you with screenshots from the diagnostics. After I turned ignition off, the car won't start again.
I have had a problem with the ESP for some time, but it has not affected the operation of the car so far
I will provide my VIN as soon as I get back from work

Re: Faulty gearbox citroen c3
Once you get a gearbox fault the starter will be locked out by the gearbox and the engine will not start.
The errors are all over the place! For the most part the ABS ECU is complaining that it's not getting sensible information from the gearbox ECU. And then when it does get information it says that the gear change actuator is playing up.
I would remove the connectors on the gearbox ECU and look for corrosion on the pins and sockets of the electrical connectors. Use electrical contact cleaner to clean the contacts in the plugs and sockets.
There are no engine ECU communication faults so the ABS ECU electrical connector seems OK. The fault seems to be on the gearbox end.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. The ESP fault is permanent and has been since the time I bought the car. I think the ABS/ESP pump has to be replaced.
I will try as you suggested to clean all the connectors, and see what happens.
