Black Discs / Circles on the screen

Hey.

My C4 Picasso has developed some black spots, circles, disks on the display. Is this a fault? Isn't it weird that hey are circles? In all my years of using computers, glitches are usually a bit more random than that!

On the photo, note the 4 spots at the bottom of the display: a large one, two smaller, and another large.

Any thoughts, please?

Is it LED backlit? If so looks like some LEDs have failed.

I'm not sure how I'd find out. It seems bizarre that they have such a hard edge, though. Do you suppose they'd be replaceable or is it going to cost me a gazillion pounds for a new display?

It's a well-known issue - a manufacturing fault with the instrument panel screens on this vehicle. Even new replacement have suffered the same fate.

They used a new screen from vehicles built from 24th August 2015. Note that this is the actual vehicle build date not the registration date! So you could have a UK 2016 registered vehicle for example, that was built in 2015 before 24/08/2015 with this issue.

That's hard to say to be honest, but you may want to call Citroen as there was a technical bulletin concerning these display issues with the instrument panel - they may be willing to replace under a goodwill gesture.
